There are six construction trades featured by NSQF.
The Nigerian Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) formerly National Vocational Qualification Framework (NVQF) is a system for the development, classification and recognition of skills, knowledge and competencies acquired by individuals, irrespective of where and how the training or skill was acquired. The system gives clear statement of what the learner must know how or be able to do whether the learning took place in a classroom, on-the-job, or less formally. The framework indicates the comparability of different qualifications and how one can progress from one level to another. The framework is the structure within which the National Skills Qualifications (NSQs) operate. The framework aims at promoting lifelong learning providing quality assurance and recognition.
The administration of NSQ comprise of three stakeholders, each performing distinct role and responsibilities. They are the Regulatory Body, the Sectors Skills Council and the Awarding Body.
The National Board dor Technical Education (NBTE) is a federal Government estabilishement under the federal ministry of Education which is responsible for advising and liasin with the government on all aspects of vocational and technical education.
The Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria, CORBON was estabilished by federal Republic of Nigeria Act Cap No. No. 40 (formerly known as Decree No. 45 of 1989), and now established by BUILDERS REGISTRATION ACT CAP. B13LFN 2004.
The Nigerian Institute of Building is the professional body for Builders and those who who are about to be engaged in the Building Profession.
